Our Jules-Vernian Underground Immersive Theatre Spectacular at Yanchep National Park’s Cabaret Cave was a resounding success! Over 100 ardent Steampunks (many of whom stayed overnight at Yanchep Inn) braved Troglodytes, hammy over-acting stuffed with Pantomime Cheese, Interpretive Mushroom Dance, Feats Of Strength and Fire, Outrageous Props (the final battle between a giant lizard made of garbage bags versus Steam Ostrich) for an evening of much hilarity, dancing, and costume/gadget comparing.

We have many hundreds more, and video as well coming – many have been “rush” posted on our facebook page already, pending final curatorial selection and editing.

Thanks to EVERYONE who put in such a huge effort to make this speleological spectacular a night and adventure to remember! Special thanks to our organizing committee and performers, all of whom volunteered their time and efforts.

Salutations to all our brave explorers of the Underground Realm!

Hereforth find Navigational Charts for your Aether-Zeppelin, Horseless Steam-carriage, or any other implausible transportation contraption by which you will arrive. MAPs of how to Journey from the Centre of Perth-Upon-Swan, and a detailed map of the Estate Grounds of the Arch-Duchy of Yanchep follow, with itemized instructions.

The Duke’s rustic summer palace, “Yanchep Inn” will serve as our base of operations during the afternoon, during which we hope to indulge in a little croquet upon the lawn from 3pm onwards. At 6pm we will start Registration of Expedition Members at the Inn, and the Shuttle Carriage to the Diggings will depart every 10 minutes between 6:30 and 7:00pm.

Your Immersive Theatre show starts strictly at 7pm, please do not dally, lest you become Confused by the plot arcs, or miss out on becoming Pleasantly Addled by our selection of restorative refreshments and provisions.

Latecomers can station their horses 100m from the cave in a carriage-park near the Cave. If you intend coming after 7pm, please inform the GSPA so we know to keep watch for you, as there have been sightings of Troglodytes even above ground after dark, the precocious brutes.

Travel time from the Freeway Interchange to Yanchep Inn is approximately 45 minutes (Freeway-Wanneroo Rd route), or an hour if you brave the endless new housing developments along the coastal route – the street signs at the end of the freeway suggest going to Yanchep that way. Don’t. The national park is reached in a far more expeditious manner going inland on Wanneroo Rd.

If you still need to get a ticket, you have until THURSDAY 26th April!!!

The Ultimate Underground Steampunk Event – Journey From The Centre Of The Perth – takes place in the fabulous Cabaret Cave at Yanchep National Park for an evening of immersive theatre and speleological adventure. Dining provisions and all restorative liquids are included.
